StAT Rotation Overview

The StAT rotation is a specialized month long rotation designed to provide pediatric advocacy residents with foundations in population health, child advocacy, health disparities, and community-based research methods. The StAT rotation includes the following StAT foundation tutorials, advocacy activities and career development sessions. Residents are allocated significant protected time to work on their individual advocacy project.

Social determinants of health and health disparities
International health
Journal club sessions

Research Methods:
Principles of community-based participatory research
Quantitative and qualitative methods overview
Developing good survey and focus group questions
Data analysis methods

Advocacy Sessions:
Legislative advocacy day in Sacramento

Career Development Sessions:
Developing personal vision and mission statements
